The Jain community received a message from the Vatican on the 2618th Birth Anniversary of Bhagwan Mahavir. Please read the message below.

Jain Center of Las Vegas performed and an online Jaap during this time of Corona Virus while Jain Society of Greater Detroit performed an online Siddha Chakra Pujan at the starting of Navpad Oli. Respective Jain center members participated in the events.

During this difficult time, Jain organizations like Shrimad Rajchandra Love & Care, Tapovan Sanskar Pith in India are coming forward to help poor people and animals by providing them food. Watch the videos below.

Jain Center of Las Vegas

During these difficult times due to Coronavirus, Jain Center of Las Vegas (JCLV) has begun doing Jaap every day for 30-40 minutes onto the Zoom video conference. During the Jaap, they chant Namokar Mantra, Stuti of Bhagwan Parshavanath, and Bhagwan Shanti Nath, Uvasaggahram Stotra, some other prayers and a few minutes of reflections and contemplations.

Every day, members of the JCLV are looking forward to joining in. This program is conceived, organized and is led by Neetaben Daulat who regularly organizes Swadhayaya at JCLV. JAINA is proud of the efforts of Jain Centers in coming together to fight the virus while maintaining the social distance. JAINA encourages all the Jain Centers in North America to do similar activities.

Jain Society of Greater Detroit

On March 31, 2020, Jain Society of Greater Detroit performed an online mini Siddha-Chakra Pujan on the webex from 10:20 AM - 11:15 AM as a part of Navpad Oli. The pujan was suggested to perform at a quiet place, with Pujan book while placing the Siddha Chakra Yantra with Vaskshepa, at the higher place. Many JSGD members attended this online Pujan.

Navpad Oli

Jains observe Festival of Navpad Oli, which lasts for nine days, twice a year. The first one falls in the bright fortnight of Ashwina month (September/October) and the second during the bright fortnight of Chaitra month.

It is exactly between Shukla Saptami (Seventh lunar day) to Purnima (Full moon day) in both Ashwina and Chaitra months. Navpad Oli starts in the middle of the Navratri, Hindu festival of India. Both of Navpad Oli falls among five Shaswata Atthais For Jains. The rest of three Atthai are Chaturmasik Athais

Jains performs Ayambil Tapa for nine days to salute these nine supreme posts in the universe. Ayambil is a special type of fast in that one eats only boiled grains that too once in a day. It is not permitted to add anything including salt/sugar/ oil to the boiled grains.

JAINA STORY : Six Dravyas - Part 3

A moment before death movements are perceptible in a living man but the moment after death nothing is perceived in the dead body. Death does not mean the annihilation of anything, soul or matter. It is only a separation of the outer body from the soul, which is still combined with two material but fine bodies, i.e. electric and karmic. It is only when the soul obtains liberation, that it becomes permanently pure and completely rid of all combined with the matter. By careful comparison, we can find a trace to the characteristic features of life and its differences from lifelessness.
